NZ 2016 – Day 10 – Christchurch to Picton – Part 2 – September 2016 – Marlborough Wine Country to Picton

Kaikoura to Picton

Heading north out of Kaikoura, we headed up State Highway 1 into the Marlborough wine country with vines at the side of the road and windmills to keep the air moving in the case of frost, and then onto Picton

One of the girls and I took our cameras and headed off on a walk to the Victoria Domain to see if we could get some good photos.

After leaving Bob’s Bay, we headed up a very big hill to see if we could get some good views. I was so hot and stuffed by the time I got to the top.

Picton Harbour

When we got back to the harbour area, there was a rush of water, and out popped a seal with some fish! I wasn’t fast enough to get a good photo, but he (or she) came back later and I kind of got a good one of him (or her) on his (or her) own.

Since we were in Marlborough Wine Country, I had a nice St Clair Sauvignon Blanc with dinner.
